MY 7 DIMENSIONS OF CAREER SUCCESS
-
What do I love most about my work?
I love guiding people at all levels of experience towards finding their true career calling. Helping them on the right path is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.
-
What do I think is the biggest misconception newcomers often have about my field of work?
Newcomers often think creativity in branding is only about visuals and a big idea. But the successful ideas come from strategic thinking, lots of planning, consumer psychology, precise storytelling, and really good timing. In short, a lot of thinking.
-
What do I think is the biggest threat to my industry and/or field of work?
The increasing reliance on automation and AI in creative fields and advising could risk sidelining the importance of human empathy, personalized advice, and understanding unique client needs.
-
What is your personal approach for maintaining work-life satisfaction?
Many in advertising, consulting and other creative industries sacrifice work-life balance. My tip: Prioritize self-care and set clear boundaries. A refreshed mind delivers better insights.
-
How do I think people in my field should adapt to stay relevant throughout their career?
Constantly read and network. And when you get to the right level of experience, mentor. I learn the most when teaching. It also helps to embrace evolving digital tools and understanding consumer trends. Continuous learning and adapting to technology help ensure relevance.
-
Looking back, what's one thing I wish I knew about my field before I started?
The importance of building a personal brand for visibility and credibility. And also the advantage of seeking mentors and learning from experienced professionals.
-
What POV do I bring to the table that challenges the status quo of my industry?
As a generalist, I question the idea that specialization is more valuable than a diverse skill set. And I question the overemphasis on credentials and degrees over practical experience.
