Dominic also worked for over ten years in fashion as a costume designer and stylist for a range of artists including The Spice Girls, Britney Spears, and David Beckham.
He is a graduate of the Illustration program at ArtCenter College of Design where he currently teaches business practices to graduating students.

What do I love most about my work?
I love bringing ideas to life. Whether working on a personal project or a client brief, when research informs the image-making process extraordinary things happen.

What do I think is the biggest misconception newcomers often have about my field of work?
Many people don't realize that running a business can be an extension of the creative process. A design mindset with a focus on creative problem solving can be a powerful tool for launching a business.

What do I think is the biggest threat to my industry and/or field of work?
Illustrators and creatives who don't know their worth. When you price your work appropriately, you establish your value to clients. The more a client values you, the more they will trust you.

What is your personal approach for maintaining work-life satisfaction?
Set goals that reflect your personal and business ambitions. These goals can be modified and adjusted along the way but defining these goals can help you build the life you dream of.

How do I think people in my field should adapt to stay relevant throughout their career?
Keep your finger on the pulse of what is happening in the world. Have an informed opinion and always keep feeding your brain. By staying informed you stay inspired and create meaningful work.

Looking back, what's one thing I wish I knew about my field before I started?
I wish I knew how important it was to share your work with the world. Clients are interested in how you think and approach a creative problem so sharing your ideation and process is just as important as the final product.

What POV do I bring to the table that challenges the status quo of my industry?
There are no gatekeepers in the illustration industry. The information you need to succeed is readily available to you and there are many avenues a person can take to find work.
